Call For Supplying Improved Pig Breeds In Bugesera, Nyaruguru And Gatsibo Districts Tender at IMBARAGA Farmers Organization

1. Introduction

IMBARAGA Farmers’ Organization is aiming to improve livelihoods of rural farming communities, increase income generating activities at households levels, and ensure food and nutrition security and safety of the program participants; with focus on climate change resilience and market access for small-scale farmers.

2. Assignment

In order to achieve the goals above, IMBARAGA Farmers’ Organization would like to invite the suppliers (companies or an individual suppliers) to deliver eighty (80) female pigs.

The pigs must be genetically improved, with existing high performance pig breed in Rwanda. Pigs will be distributed to the project participants from Nyaruguru district (Muganza, Munini and Rusenge sectors), Gatsibo district (Rwimbogo, Murambi and Kiziguro sector), and Bugesera district (Kamabuye and Ngeruka sectors). In Bugesera 20 female pigs will be distributed, in Gtsibo 30 female pigs and in Nyaruguru 30 female pigs.

3. Scope of work

IMBARAGA invites competent companies or individuals for tendering for delivering of pigs.

The conditions and requirements for quality of pigs to be supplied are outlined below:

• Pigs must be at the age between 7 to 10 months 
• Pigs should have 80 kg (live weight)
• Supplied pig (gilt) must be improved cross breed at 75%
• Supplied pigs must be in good health status with normal physical conformity

• Pigs must be sourced from a well-recognized farm with free contamination (farm with no historic epidemical diseases at least 1 year).
• Supplied pig must hold ear tag 
• Supplier must transport pigs to the sites in good conditions respecting animal transportation regulations.

The total of 80 Pigs (gilts) will be distributed, this means respect the number per each district.

4. Proposal requirements

Interested bidders should include the following information in their proposals:

• Detailed price quotation for the supply, delivery, respect the animals’ specifications. The price quotation should be provided per kilogram (KG) of live weight.
• Timeline for delivering at the district levels.

5. Submission Deadline and Method

Proposals (hard copy file) should be submitted on Monday 13th October 2025; 10:00AM at IMBARAGA Head Offices_ Kigali (Location: KK18Av214)

6. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Financial proposal with clear price quotation.
• Detailed timeline and capacity to deliver.
