ABOUT TLAFRICA

Transformational Leadership in Africa (TLAfrica), lnc. is a Christian non-profit organization with a vision for empowered African leaders bringing holistic transformation in communities.
This position reports to the Director for Holistic Ministries. This position will be based in Musanze, Rwanda.

JOB OBJECTIVES

• To oversee and deliver our strategic communications work; and
  
• To maximize income from trusts, foundations, statutory and corporate funders to support the work of TLAfrica
  

Key responsibilities and tasks

COMMUNICATIONS

• To support the development and delivery of TLAfrica communications strategy
  
• To collect and write impact stories/reports from the field for dissemination in multiple platfonns
  
• To take high quality photos and videos from TLAfrica’s projects in Eastern Africa
  
• To monitor and improve TLAfrica communications with key stakeholders and audiences
  
• To Plan and coordinate all the organization external and internal events
  
• To oversee and edit content on the website and the quarterly newsletter
  
• To develop and manage an on-line community of stakeholders on social media
  
• To support the Senior Management Team to develop opportunities to communicate our
  messages to audiences through meetings, events and web-based activity
  
• To write other material including press releases, articles and web pages as required
  
• Collaborate with Development Director for fundraising, proposal development,monitoring and evaluation of programs
  

WORKING RELATIONSHlPS

Liaise with the Boards of Directors for fundraising activities.
Works with the other staff, partners, volunteers, church mission directors/pastors, local congregations, and representatives of mission agencies in the United States and other regions of operation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALlFlCATIONS

• Testimony of salvation and membership to a local church
  
• Master’s Degree in a Communication-related field or Bachelor’s Degree in a Communications Related field with at least 3 years‘ experience
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  
• Excellent photography and videography skills
  
• Ability to use any graphic design software is an added advantage
  
• Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with all the TLAfrica,
  lnc. offices.
  
• Ability to plan, organize and facilitate workshops, major events, and other public
  meetings.
  
• Willingness to travel to grassroots areas of Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda,
  
• Democratic Republic of Congo to or other countries as may be required.
