2. The purpose of the assignment

The EDC website should be designed to be user-friendly for a variety of clients, including Government organizations (such as MINEDUC, REB, and NESA), Non-Government Organizations, and the public. It should provide easy access to essential information without requiring much effort from the user. Additionally, in the event of any system failure or the need for urgent updates, the website should be easily maintainable. Given that the website will be accessed on a wide range of devices, it must be adaptive and automatically scalable for both smartphones and computers.

Website Developer Responsibilities

Education Development Consult is currently seeking a full stack web developer for a hybrid role based in Rwanda. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working both on-site and remotely. Responsibilities for this position include designing, coding, and maintaining web applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience. Additionally, the successful candidate will be tasked with debugging and troubleshooting website issues, as well as ensuring web security measures are in place. The following are web developer job roles and Responsibilities:

• Builds, designs, and maintains the websites for Education Development Consult.
• Regulates exposure to business stakeholders and Chief Executive Officer as well as other company authorities.
• Designs, writes, and edits website content.
• Understands UI, cross-browser compatibility, and general web functions and standards.
• Creates solutions for identified problems or bugs.
• Executes assignments with the use of web applications, scripts, and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
• Develops and validates test routines to ensure the quality of the external and internal interface.
• Plans and delivers software platforms and products across multiple organizational departments.
• Designs assignments with web services like REST, SOAP, etc.
• Evaluates written code to ensure it meets the standards and is compatible with all devices.
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a web developer (show the service certificates or testimonials as proof)
• Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Demonstrated experience with front-end frameworks such as React and AngularJS
• Experience with back-end frameworks such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails, and Django
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with web templates and frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
• Understanding of responsive design principles
• Experience with cross-browser compatibility and debugging.
• Problem-solving skills and an ability to think creatively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
