JOB DETAILS:
Lake Kivu and Rusizi/Ruzizi River Basin Authority (ABAKIR) is a project funded by the Union European Commission and Governments of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda with a mandate of Integrated Water Management of the Lake Kivu and Rusizi /Ruzizi River Basin.

In this framework the Transitional Structure of ABAKIR is recruiting a driver for its vehicle.
Overall job content:
The Driver is responsible for the car maintenance and the transport of ABAKIR staff.

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

• Car maintenance:
• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and road worthy
• Check vehicle condition/requirement and fill the Log Book properly
• Ensure that proper maintenance and servicing of the vehicle are taken in due time and reported to the supervisors.
• Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, perform minor repairs and arrange for other related repairs;
• Transportation of authorized personnel and delivery the mails and other various messages;
• Carrying out field trips in/or out out-side the country;
• Prepare monthly summary of oil consumption and report to supervisor;
• Ensure that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
• Perform all other related duties.

Competencies
Proven experience in car driving for national or international organization projects
Excellent communication skills, including inter-personal;

Qualifications
Certificate in auto mechanics
Driver license at least category B

Language requirements
Fluency in English, French, and Swahili
