Job Description
GiRiNZU is a young company that designs and builds houses across its urban villages for new generations. Its first project is in Gahanga, south of Kigali, where GiRiNZU is building a first village of around 65 residential houses (mainly individual houses and small collective residences).

The company's objective is to double its production every year, and to reach an annual production of approximately 300 homes by 2024, including a significant proportion of affordable housing. The company is young, dynamic and all employees share values of work and collaboration, respect for people and nature which are fundamental.

To achieve these objectives, the company wishes to rethink the design of the houses to be built, in particular by integrating several new construction principles such as SKAT, and by improving the quality of the information produced by the design team for the works. In this context, the company is recruiting a senior structural engineer, capable of designing these new houses, creating calculation notes adapted to new construction methods and writing construction instructions for the works teams.

The structural engineer will have the task, in conjunction with the project architect, of designing a set of masonry houses for real estate programs (approximately 100 housing units), sizing them, and then preparing construction instructions explaining the synthetic and simple way, how to build these houses.

The Senior Structural Engineer works directly for the Managing Director, who is the main sponsor of the project. He presents the various options being studied and the results that have been achieved. The position is likely to evolve with the project.
As part of his duties, the structural engineer may also be required to manage subjects related to design, but important for the development of the company.

Requirements
• Engineering degree (Master's level) in building (Higher Institutions Training, or Equivalent)
• 10 years of professional experience in a position of structural engineer or equivalent in world-renowned companies.
• An excellent knowledge of the world of construction and European and Rwandan standards.
• Ability to manage a team of engineers.

Technical Skills required for the job:
• Mastery of EUROCODE structural calculations, including masonry calculations (EUROCODE 6);
• Mastery of structural calculations in accordance with the Rwandan code;
• Mastery of the principles relating to price studies and methods in the construction;
• Mastery of drawing tools (AutoCad and REVIT), and calculation (ROBOT);
• Mastery of office tools such as Excel and InDesign.

Soft Skills required for the job:
• Ability to speak and write in English and French,
• Ability to work independently on assigned topics and to be a force to proposal on technical issues.
• Ability to present to a very high-level assembly the results of the work carried out.
• Seriousness and reliability.
