JOB DETAILS:
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Operations to manage the daily operations and maintenance of a hydropower plant. This role is critical in ensuring the plant maximizes energy export to the grid while optimizing plant availability and costs. The position is based at the hydropower site and reports directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations and Maintenance:
Lead and oversee daily plant operations, managing all plant personnel effectively.
• Ensure full compliance with local laws and industry regulations, including Health & Safety, environmental, and labour guidelines.
Maintain plant assets following manufacturers' recommendations and guidelines.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely operational reports to management.
Ensure plant assets are secure and respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
Liaise with company stakeholders as required by senior management. Adheres the organization's vision, mission, and policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the corporate office to prepare annual and monthly operations and maintenance budgets.
Monitor and manage expenditures to ensure budgetary control.
Customer Focus:

Profile:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with the company's clients and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexible, well organized, and resourceful with the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
5 to 10 years of experience in hydropower operations and maintenance is desirable.

Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized academic institution. Membership in a relevant engineering and/or management body is an added advantage.
