JOB DETAILS:
Lawyer consultant
FCLLO is community based organization located in Southern province, Huye District.
It started operating since 2015 and got from RGB (Rwanda Government Board) the registration certificate in 2018.
With Kivinna Till Kivinna fund, the organization would like to recruit a Lawyer consultant to participate in the implementation of 10 months project. The contract will be based on the number of training sessions on GBV laws and Leadership to provide to rights holders. The main areas of the organization are: Sexual/Gender Based Violence, Sexual and Reproductive Heath Rights, Women’s Qualitative Participation Leadership, Women’s Economic Empowerment and Conflict Resolution/Peace building. Target group of the organization is made of women and girls affected or even exposed to SGBV. The organization is committed to high ethics standard of integrity, respect, inclusiveness and self-driven.

FCLLO has 4 main objectives which guide its day to day activities
• Fight against sexual violence committed to girls and women.
• Empower and accompany girls and women to prevent and respond to domestic violence in a way that encourages and creates resilience and self-esteem as a sustainable mechanism against domestic and sexualized violence
• Support women and girls’ economic empowerment
• Strengthen the capacity of the organization.
Lawyer consultant
Location: Huye
Lawyer consultant: Reports to the Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Providing appropriate training on GBV Laws and Leadership to women, teen and young mothers.
• Providing advice on legal matters.
• Providing to rights holders the knowledge, skills and tips to claim for their rights
• Essential Skills and Abilities
• Should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to recommend suitable decisions based on judgment.
• Be able to function without anybody's supervision and should be able to deal appropriately with confidential information.
• Be an excellent team player with the ability to prioritize work.
• The Legal Consultant should keep himself/herself updated with all the legal laws and should be able to apply them in the given situation.
• Provide information pertaining to sexual and gender based violence related to the mandate of the organization
• Knowledge of Kinyarwanda should constitute an added advantage;
• Self-motivated and client-orientated with a strong sense of personal ethic, integrity, and
• quality;
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
• High level of flexibility and maximum control of tight deadlines.
• Have good command in English, written & verbal;

Educational Background and Experience
Should have least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in law, (master's degree in law related field preferable). Adequate knowledge and experience in Constitutional matters, Right to Information Act, GBV laws knowledge and ability to apply it to the concrete situation.
