JOB DETAILS:
Your role as a logistics and distribution manager is to organize the storage and distribution of farm produce. You'll ensure that produce is delivered to the right location on time, at good cost, and in excellent condition. You will also solely responsible for transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of produce. Understanding the supply chain of fresh agricultural produce is vital in your success in this role. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage relationships with farmers, transportation providers, vendors, in order to ensure the seamless export of farm produce.
• Analyzing logistical problems and produce new solutions.
• Work with farmers to produce orders correct and timely.
• Coordinate air or ocean shipments for export transactions.
• Proactively problem solve and communicate with appropriate departments when supply chain issues arise.
• Update all parties to the transaction on dates and information needed to execute order correctly.
• Work to ensure safe transport of goods to overseas buyer.
• Prepare export documentation per transaction instructions and customer requirements.
• Handle customer service issues as needed.
• Monitors supply needs and keeps adequate on hand inventory which includes forecasting and making suggestions of other needs.
• Ensure produce quality is retained throughout the transportation process.
• Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs.
• Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.
• Liaise and negotiate with service providers, such as transport companies and cold storage providers.
• Implement health and safety procedures.
• Work on new supply strategies.
• Plan vehicle routes.

• Relevant industry experience a plus.
• 3+ years working in a warehouse environment.
• Airline freight management experience considered a significant advantage.
• Experience with receiving, stocking, handling, and shipping.
• Experience in administrative roles.
• Knowledge of best safety practices in a warehouse environment, including food safety.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite programs and databases.
