Background

Duterimbere ONG, founded in 1987, is a Rwandan non-governmental organization dedicated to the economic empowerment of low-income, economically active women in the fight against poverty. Its commitment is manifested through initiatives such as entrepreneurship, access to finance, food security, horticultural value chain development, job creation and advocacy. Created by 29 women, the organization aims to promote and recognize the role of women in development at all levels. It currently has 1,044 members in 4 provinces and the city of Kigali, Rwanda.

DUTERIMBERE ONG in partnership with TROCARE Rwanda  via Scottish Government are implementing a project named Climate Justice Communities in Karongi District in 3 sectors of Gitesi, Murambi and Mutuntu with  aiming  of supporting vulnerable groups such as the youth , people with disabilities, women headed household  and Survivors of Genocides  against the Tutsi 1994 to become adaptive on climate change issues.

Background

DUTERIMBERE ONG in partnership with Trocaire Rwanda in its mandate to improve access to clean and safe water and promote resilience through sustainable infrastructure, is inviting qualified and experienced service providers to submit their bids for the supply and installation of water storage systems, including all necessary accessories and gutters, for 14 retrofitted houses located in the Gitesi, Mutuntu, and Murambi Sectors of Karongi District.

Scope of Work

The scope of work includes but is not limited to:

• Supply and delivery of complete water storage systems for 14 houses (tanks of 5,000 litters’ capacity).
• Installation of rainwater harvesting systems, including guttering systems, downpipes, connectors, and filtration components.
• Construction of tank bases (where required) ensuring structural stability.
• Testing of the system for functionality and water-tightness.
• Training of household beneficiaries on usage and basic maintenance.
• Provision of user manuals and maintenance guidelines.

Deliverables

• 14 fully functional water harvesting and storage systems installed.
• Detailed report of installation work.
• Warranty of not less than 12 months on tanks and accessories.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested bidders must:

• Be a registered company or cooperative in Rwanda with a valid trade license.
• Demonstrate experience in supplying and installing water storage systems (minimum 3 similar projects in the last 5 years).
• Provide proof of tax clearance and social security compliance.
• Provide a detailed technical proposal and financial bid.

Submission Requirements

Interested companies are invited to submit:

• Company profile and registration documents
• Detailed technical proposal
• Financial offer (inclusive of all taxes)
• Proof of past experience (with at least 3 references)
• CVs of key personnel to be involved
• Project delivery timeline (not exceeding 20^th  June /2025)

• Relevant experience and qualifications (20%)
