CALL FOR APPLICATION ON POST OF ZONE INSPECTOR IN JALI TRANSPORT LIMITED
COMPANY BACKGROUND
JTL’s primary objective is to improve travel conditions for public transport users in Rwanda and a more enjoyable onboard environment for the passengers.
Providing direct transportation services to the public such as;
• Organizing transport systems in our areas of control by:
• Ensuring that all areas are provided with adequate vehicles.
• Ensuring that the standard of our services adheres to the general rules and procedures governing the public transport sector.
• Providing solutions to the current public transport problems such as increased traffic congestion in the city by replacing coasters and minibusses with larger city buses.
Jali Transport limited wishes to fill the below vacant position with qualified, experienced, talented, capable and dedicated individuals to join the team to make its mission and vision a reality. The position’s details are as follows;
Position Name: ZONE INSPECTOR .

Key responsibilities of zone inspector
• Assesses transport, traffic and handling passengers’ complaints and/or accidents for the purposes of resolving or recommending solutions for the situation to the management.
• Conducts regular transport inspections for the purpose of ensuring work quality, performance and assuring that staff performance is meeting established standards and expectations.
• Assist Director of Transport operations to inspect and evaluate modalities of passengers transport for the purpose of ensuring compliance with work order and relevant trade standards and meeting city of Kigali and state requirements
• Composes a variety of materials (e.g reports, memos, letters, procedures etc) for the purposes of documenting transport activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information affecting transport to his/her supervisors
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly activity reports to the Director of Transport operations
• Perform any other duty as may be deemed necessary by the supervisor

Skills and Competencies
• Ability to appraise and use IT packages and electronic communication methods.
• Tact, diplomacy and calmness, especially when dealing with drivers and disgruntled customers.
• An analytic mind and good numeracy skills.
• Excellent geographical knowledge.
• Good people management and coordination skills.
• Excellent financial acumen.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the transport sector in Rwanda.
• Good intuition to make crucial judgment calls.
• Possess driving license of A category

Education level and experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Transport and Logistics Management (TLM), Economics, Finance, Statistics, Administration, Public Relations, or any other relevant qualifications.
• Experience of not less than one year in the above fields will be an advantage.
• Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English and having knowledge in French is added competence
