Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) is an international non-governmental organization that specializes in the design and construction of pedestrian footbridges. We are on the hunt for a responsible Program Manager to run our industry operations in Rwanda.
The Rwanda Industry Program Manager will lead a team of engineers and coordinators that specialize in hosting volunteer groups on our bridge projects. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Industry Program in Rwanda including reporting, accounting, staff management, team and donor trips, strategic planning, technical oversight and training..

  Responsibilities
Hosting and Fulfilment
• Serve as main point of contact for Industry teams in country
• Coordinate, schedule, and host Industry prep calls
• Oversee the preparation for the Industry Team including but not limited to coordinating accommodation, meals, vehicle hire, tool inventories and site preparation
• Meet teams upon arrival in country and accompany them to site, returning mid-week at times and often for inaugurations
• Work with scaling team to coordinate bridge inaugurations with the Industry team and the local government
• Coordinate donor and foundations trips with B2P headquarters staff
• Accompany donors throughout their visits to Rwanda when appropriate, including but not limited to bridge site visits and tourist activities
Management
• Foster an open and enthusiastic work environment with team members, promoting strong team spirit to enable staff to be successful in the field
• Manage industry program staff
• Coordinate build schedule with Scaling Program Director. Work with scaling to update/change build locations and schedules if need arrives during the build season. Maintain and develop relations with collaborating corporate teams
• Fulfill financial and inventory reporting requirements
• Assure compliance with local and international regulations
• Coordinate media updates for social media campaigns and other PR documents
• Provide project management oversight for local construction managers and engineers
• Drive the Rwanda Industry Program’s strategic plan
Technical
• Lead a team of engineers that are responsible for overseeing bridge construction while industry teams are on site
• Maintain in depth understanding of the Bridge Builder Manual
• Update Rwanda construction and safety documents to match existing construction techniques and safety policy
• Review construction and safety plans submitted by industry teams
• Respond to technical questions submitted by Industry teams when appropriate
• Review change order proposals

  Qualifications
• -Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in engineering design, construction management and/or program management, strong preference for international experience
• -Strong project management skills and experience
• -Tangible experience implementing rural infrastructure projects
• -Technical competency in design concepts and understanding construction plans
• -Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and communication skills
• -Clear, concise and efficient communication within team and excellent interpersonal skills
• -Ability to represent the organization in a professional manner to external partners
• -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• -Passion for B2P’s mission
• -Language requirements: English required
