JOB DETAILS:
As a world leader in water metering & associated communications technologies, and within the context of the development of the business in this region, we need to support and to create a new position in our new office in Kigali : Sales Manager
Under the responsibility of the Managing Director and Director of Sales, you will cover specific African countries, and have the following responsibilities:
- Seek new customers and customer opportunities
- Leading a sustainable and predictable sales business that delivers success
- Building and growing strong customer and partner executive relationships to earn their trust and loyalty.
- Driving integration and orchestration across all sales/tech sales/marketing/services/public tenders organizations since the start of the contact until the signature of the projects
- Develop strong relationships at all levels within the customer organization, as well as agents & distributors
- Prepare complete, clear and convincing technical and commercial quotes and proposals
- Ensuring the execution and follow-up of the projects
- Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market
- Tracking the new keeping up to date with products and competitors
Responsibilities for the position include:
- Report on competitive activity, prepare forecasts of short and long term business potentials
- Strategic account planning: prospecting, active cross selling, order fulfillment
- Overall responsibility for sales targets in a focus region within the territory
- Extensive travel throughout the region, with a travel target of 60%
- Market research / inside sales to determine potential opportunities and routes to market
- Understanding clients’ needs, and designing solutions with our technologies and services
- Preparation of quotations, technical proposals, and tender responses, presentations, etc.
- Negotiating and closing sales / tenders, and after-sales support services / follow up
- Provide market reports and presentations to the Itron Management team
Profile & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a science discipline or equivalent experience in Sales & marketing would be appreciated with at least 4 to 7 years’ experience in Sales in an International context.
- Strong sales and business background centered on software technologies technology combined with deep understanding of key industry solutions and competitive technologies
- Ability to identify, nurture, and drive Solutions deals with all customers.
- Must have a passion for sales and solution selling, solid leadership and teambuilding presence, and be customer satisfaction obsessed.
Skills & specific knowledge
- Fluent in English, Swahili, Kinyarwanda and strong notions in French.
- Trained and proficient in Solution Selling methodology proven track record of exceeding established sales quotas
- Experience in selling to the government and municipal market or, in technical sales roles
- Capable of managing workload effectively & with limited supervision
- Passion to grow and develop career with a growth-oriented company
- Customer focused, enthusiastic and motivated,
- Strong communication Skills (Oral, written, presentations)
- Strong adaptability to work with any kind of stakeholders
