JOB DETAILS:

  Job Responsibilities:
• To perform other related dutiesas may be assigned by the management of the Ministry.
• To prepare, promote and coordinate all activities of agricultural sector wide initiatives to improve seed access;
• To prepare, promote and coordinate all activities of agricultural extension for seed use in collaboration with MINAGRI agencies project and other Stakeholders;
• To initiate urgent mechanisms aimed at availing affordable seed on time;
• To convene and facilitate private sector and government actors to broker partnership to increase rural access to ppropriate seed;
• Develop field ready Strategies to increase smallholder farmer’s knowledge and use of appropriate seed;
• Strengthen the private sector role in demonstrating the benefits of using appropriate seed;
• Assist in measuring progress of seed - use related activities;
• Develop and Strengthen relationship between Farmers and seed dealer;
• Collaborate closely with other partners that operate in input area to facilitate farmers access to improved seed;
• Work closely with local government to ensure farmer access to improved seed affordable and timely;
• To ensure provision of advice and technical assistance to local government in the implementation of seasonal planned activities for seed distribution and use;
• To produce regularly report on the availability and distribution of appropriate seed for seasonal preparation;
• To perform other related duties.
